Investing on the ability of local communities to sustain and to reinforce, through appropriate informative processes, their own self-management capacities of tourists activities, and to obtain in a such way, in the best hypotheses, a progressive rise of income and work opportunities, in particular for the categories in disadvantage the women and teenagers.

This is the denomination of the local wine produced with the grapes of Chã das Caldeiras and transformed exclusively at the Wine cellar of Chã and managed by the Association of local producers of Chã in cooperation (partnership) with a Fiorentina ONG COSPE, on a project to “Sustain Basic Communities on the Island of Fogo for the Valorization of
Natural Resources and of Local Products (Cape Verde)” - Cod. AID MAE 7718/COSPE/CPV
NATURAL PARK & PRESERVATION
The protected natural preserve, constituted few years ago and financed by the Tedesca Cooperation, includes the Volcano and the surrounding area of the Caldera, also including the forest of Monte Velha, the only area on the Island that boasts the presence of an exuberant tropical forest. |
